Carol Ann Greve, of Cincinnati, who loved her family above all, left them on January 7, 2022 at age 84. She was born August 17, 1937, the fourth of nine children.
Growing up in a large family left her with the abilities to collaborate, negotiate, and empathize with others. And she needed it while raising her own four children. She had the energy and persistence to fight for her family – she was the epitome of bootstrap success.
As a single mother, she miraculously made it to every soccer game and parent-teacher conference, as well as took her family on the occasional canoe trip or overnight.
Carol had many interests during her lifetime and was always trying to learn the next new thing. She fearlessly tackled home improvement – she cut door into a wall and helped her sister remodel a bathroom, learning to install sinks and toilets from a book. She was also the family genealogist, a life master bridge player, and an avid knitter. When she died, she was working on a blanket using a new knitting loom.
Above all, Carol loved her family. She is survived by five siblings, Bob Greve, Mary Faukner, Jim Greve (Susan), Rita Hauck, and Tom Greve (Peggy); her four children: Werner Wischerath (Janette-deceased), Rita Frazier, and Peg McDonough (Rick), and Wayne Wischerath (Victoria); five grandchildren: Megan McDonough, Cheyne Frazier, Carole Frazier, Aidan McDonough, and Catherine Wischerath; and one great-grandchild, Ava Beloate. She also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Gathering will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday January 12th from 1 pm until time of funeral service at 2 pm.
Following the ceremony, friends and family can gather to celebrate Carol's life at the Blue Ash Civic League.
